Grimes performs ‘Genesis’, a track off her new album ‘Visions’.
Grimes ‘performed’ last night @ Drunken Unicorn (Atlanta)…a bit underwhelming. her set was short (35-40 min) and her ‘backup musicians’ appeared to be phoning in their ‘parts’, ie air drums were in fashion, the overexcited dude on keys may or may not have been doing much of anything and the vocals were perplexing - it was hard to tell if they were just really low in the mix or if they were as live as you’d hope they’d be (as the video footage demonstrates, along with audible disappointment voiced from concert goers). altogether it wasn’t a total bust but i felt bad for anyone who actually drove from out of town to enjoy the sold out show. hopefully next time around it will be more satisfying.
